Iamesi Village
San Jose, CA
Project Description
The Iamesi Village project located in downtown San Jose calls for five stories of dwelling units over parking, with a density of 207 units per acre. This 135 unit apartment building will offer 118 studio units and 16 one- bedroom units at 30-50% of the Area Median Income. BASE has worked in collaboration with the developer First Community Housing and Architects FORA to design these apartments to enhance the existing neighborhood.

The building will be LEED Platinum certified. The sustainable design features a green roof and a large, exterior landscaped podium which will
capture and infiltrate water into a rain garden at the ground level.

Iamesi Village will be the affordable portion of the North San Pedro Residential Project, a large multi-phased housing master plan developed by Intracorp Companies, Barry Swenson Builder, and First Community Housing in partnership with the San Jose Redevelopment Agency. The 5.72-acre site is immediately adjacent to San Jose’s Downtown Core Area. FCH’s involvement with the project enabled the RDA to secure a $24 million Infill Infrastructure Grant from the State of California.
