Located in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission District neighborhood, this renovation of an existing courtyard at Maria Alicia Apartments includes ample seating areas, a central turf area for movie nights, and planting throughout.

 

In collaboration with G7A | Architecture + Urban and Mission Housing, BASE designed a playful space that took inspiration from the colors found in the surrounding neighborhood. The team took special consideration for the proposed elements, such as weight and drainage requirements, since the site is located on an existing structure.
