Buena Vista Horace Mann K-8 Community School
San Francisco, CA
Project Description
BASE is currently working on Buena Vista Horace Mann K-8 in the Mission District in San Francisco. Patricia & Siobhan, along with Jess and Mafe, collaborated with Noll & Tam Architects, En2Action, and the School Librarian, to conduct a series of workshops with students Kinder-5th grade to engage them to design their dream school. We taught them about the design process, how to think like a landscape architect/architect, and how to use different tools to create their ideas. They had a lot of great ideas and provided crucial input for us to consider as we move onto the next phase of the project. We are happy to say that one student even got inspired and 'wants to be an architect when (they) grow up'. It is this kind of response that reminds us of why we do what we do.
