New recreation opportunities on the shores of Lake Tahoe
BASE worked with Gould Evans to develop a concept master plan for a new recreation area along the shores of Lake Tahoe. The plan includes a network of trails – including one along the historic Lincoln Highway. Overnight guests are accommodated in campsites, yurts, treehouses, and canvas “glamping” tents. New beach access points help concentrate foot traffic and reduce erosion of the shore.
A great lawn serves as a central gathering and picnic spot. This activity node provides nature play areas, a biergarten, cafe housed in a repurposed barn, and spectacular views over the lake. An open air pavilion serves as an event space for weddings, parties, or reunions.
