In 2012, the German International School of Silicon Valley acquired their first East Bay property – a then-abandoned beautiful public school in the north Berkeley hills. As they began to make core infrastructure improvements, they turned to BASE for expertise in planning children’s educational landscapes.
BASE is working closely with the school community to develop a Master Plan that expands the schools’ learning curriculum into the landscape based in nature based play. We presented some of our initial research and findings to the school and surrounding community for feedback. This draft Master Plan represents the integration of much of that feedback.
